In
late 2002, I contracted with Carlson homes to build a
house at Lost Star in Desert Mountain. I am pleased with
the house and highly recommend Carlson Homes.
Time
To Completion: While I felt that a house of
this size and quality would take well over a year to
build, Carlson Homes completed it in less than a year.
Estimed Cost: Costs came
in on target, except for a few minor corrections necessary
to bring the house to Desert Mountain code.
Total Cost: While the majority
of Desert Mountain homes the more exclusive neighborhoods
cost from $300-400/sq foot, Carlson was able to complete
our home for $250/sq foot.
Communications: Gary Carlson
was almost always accessible by cell phone. We only saw
the house 4 times during construction because we live in
Dallas. Communication via phone to the contractor was critical.
Architect: Carlson has a
great in-house designer and we were able to avoid the cost
of an outside architect.
In addition, Carlson Homes thoroughly followed
up to ensure that all post-construction issues were resolved.
We are very pleased to be in our house ahead of schedule,
at budget, and with very few complications. Carlson Homes
should be the benchmark for custom homebuilding.
